This runtime actually felt perfect for the 2D game because it covers all of the important points in the story and allows players unlock the different endings during multiple play-throughs before it becomes tiring. This isn’t necessarily a negative thing, however. The game only takes an average of 2 and a half hours for the main story (or 4 and a half for completionists), making the game’s runtime surprisingly short. Therefore, even if you have played Mad Father before, it is definitely worth it to take another look. New artwork and additions to the old storyline make the game worth playing again for those who have already played the original.

Users on Steam who had played the free version reported that the latest version is worth the new price tag. The game is still available for free, but an updated version of the game was released for a small cost on Steam on September 23. It was soon translated into English by a fan known as “ vgperson“.
#Mad father aya cosplay for free
This indie horror RPG game was originally released in Japan for free by a developer called Sen using WOLF RPG Editor. If you miss an item or make the wrong choices, poor Aya’s fate may be worse than death. Players must solve puzzles, survive sequenced quick time events, dodge sinister monsters, and find hidden items in order to make it to the ending Aya and her family deserves. I’ll just keep these game posts separate from each other.Mad Father is a dark tale about a girl named Aya who struggles to save her father before it’s too late. This post is longer than I thought it would be. I really want to play this game again and get some different endings, maybe even find the true ending ! Though it did take me a while to realise that I had to push the young doctor’s mother out of the room in one of them, haha! I really enjoyed the puzzle rooms, especially the backstory room. Damn you, Maria.īesides getting a bad ending, I really loved playing this game! The game isn’t too hard to figure out (especially if you interact with everything XD), the pixel scenes are beautiful to look at and the music is gorgeous too. Maria learns that the doctor is dead and, due to her undying love for him, carries out his wish of turning Aya into a beautiful doll. Everything seemed calm until Aya ran into her father’s obsessed assistant, Maria. I didn’t choose to save her father and put her mother’s soul to rest instead. SPOILER– The first time that I played this game, I got a bad end. Aya then decides that she must save her father. She then meets ‘Ogre’ who tells her about the curse and corpses wanting their revenge on the doctor. The voice belongs to a young blonde-haired boy (some call him Dio) who has had an eye torn from it’s socket. She runs away and hears a voice, calling her. She exits the nursery and runs into some corpses roaming around on her way out. If you don’t get them all (I have yet to) I’m not sure if the number of gems that you do collect determines the final outcome of the game, aside from the final choices that you make at the end, but I’d say that it’s best to collect a lot, haha XDĪya hears her father scream in the laboratory and wants to make sure that he is okay. Collect all of the gems for a special ending.

Almost everything in the nursery can be investigated and you’ll soon find out about ‘gems’. The game starts in the nursery where Aya sleeps. The game is based around the cursed corpses of test subjects who want their revenge on Aya’s father. She regularly hears screaming from his lab, both animal and human screaming. Aya always knew what her father and his assistant were up to.

He also has an assistant, Maria helping him out. You soon learn that Aya’s mother has passed away due to illness and she lives with her father, a doctor, who likes to experiment. In this game, you play as a young girl named Aya. Mad Father is a newly Japanese-to-English translated horror survival game, created by Sen, who also made Misao (which I have also played). The first one that I played was one that a lot of people are talking about right now- Mad Father. Here are the games that I’ve been playing. Recently I’ve been downloading and playing a lot of 2D pixel horror survival games to help pass the time while I’m ill.
